Game Ready Driver Optimized for Diablo IV Beta, Cyberpunk 2077 RT: Overdrive Mode, and Forza Horizon 5 Out Now-October 2024
Oct 19, 2024 5:18 AM

Today, NVIDIA released a new GeForce Game Ready driver (version 531.41) optimized for the Diablo IV Open Beta that will begin tomorrow, where GeForce RTX users will get to enable DLSS 2 (Super Resolution) with DLSS 3 (Frame Generation) coming at launch. As usual, the download is available either via the official website or the GeForce Experience software.

The driver also provides the optimal experience for the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode, due to release as a technology preview on April 11th as part of update 1.62. NVIDIA said today that this is just the beginning, as more ray tracing enhancements and optimizations will be available in the future, which is likely why it's being treated as a sneak peek preview.

Back when RT: Overdrive Mode was announced, the following features were outlined by CD Projekt RED and NVIDIA:

NVIDIA RTX Direct Illumination (RTXDI) gives each neon sign, street lamp, car headlight, LED billboard, and TV accurate ray-traced lighting and shadows, bathing objects, walls, passing cars, and pedestrians in accurate colored lighting;Ray-traced indirect lighting and reflections now bounce multiple times, compared to the previous solution’s single bounce. The result is even more accurate, realistic and immersive global illumination, reflections, and self-reflections;Ray-traced reflections are now rendered at full resolution, further improving their quality;Improved, more physically-based lighting removes the need for any other occlusion techniques. On GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs, Shader Execution Reordering will speed up GPU time by 42% by improving the efficiency of the ray traced ops.

Game Ready driver 531.41 is optimized for the upcoming Forza Horizon 5 DLSS 3 update, due to be released later on March 28th. Check out a brief video comparison below.

This driver also includes optimizations for Deceive, Inc., Resident Evil 4, Smalland: Survive the Wildlands, and The Last of Us Part I. All of these games save for Resident Evil 4 include native DLSS 2 support, but there's also a mod to add DLSS and DLAA support to Resident Evil 4.

The full changelog notes of GeForce Game Ready driver 531.41 reveals the following list of fixes:

Adobe application stability issues using 531.18

Enscape crash at startup with 531.18

Beamr - Issue with AV1 encoding in PTD=0 mode

Derivative TouchDesigner - NVAR: crash when using multi-person tracking

[Forza Horizon 5] Rainbow like artifacts in game after driver update

[Portal with RTX] "Background application max frame rate" setting is getting engaged while game is in focus

Disable Horizon Zero Dawn Resizable Bar profile on Intel platforms
