Game Of Thrones Jon Snow Spin-Off TV Series Update: No Guarantee It'll Be Made-November 2024
Nov 17, 2024 5:27 AM

HBO's Game of Thrones series was a cultural phenomenon and its prequel spin-off series, House of the Dragon, had a hit Season 1 with Seasons 2 and 3 on the way. The ongoing WGA strike has had a pencils-down effect on several shows as the studios continue to not negotiate, leaving the fate of some productions unknown at this time.

One of those productions is the Jon Snow spin-off series with Kit Harington. The show was pitched by Harington to Game of Thrones writer George R. R. Martin successfully but kept the details of the show close to his chest. "There's not much more I can tell you, not until HBO gives me a green light," Martin said at the time.

However now that show might not make it to production. Talking to Deadline, Max's head of drama Francesca Orsi explained that not everything planned is going to make it to the streaming service with the ongoing strike and how things are run under the David Zaslav regime.

"We're just working deeply with the writers to get it in shape for potential greenlight, but at this point, no, no determination on whether it can go all the way," she said. Orsi added that Harington is still attached to star and executive produce, but it's also in the earliest stages.

Along with House of the Dragon and Snow, there is still more Game of Thrones series at least planned for Max. There are Ten Thousand Ships, Sea Snake, and The Hedge Knight, which just had its own shutdown due to the strike.
