Game Of Thrones Complete Series Home Release Has Reunion Special That's Actually Interesting-October 2024
Oct 21, 2024 9:26 PM

HBO's award-winning series Game of Thrones came to a close this year after eight seasons. Now, Season 8 and the complete series are both available on Blu-ray and DVD, so you can watch it all come to an end once more. Normally, reunion specials can be a bit dry, but on the Game of Thrones: The Complete Series Blu-ray, there is a two-part special that's informative and really funny.

The two-part special brings back the cast and creators of the series, including folks who were killed off early on in the show, like Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo. However, unlike other reunion specials, this one was lighthearted and fun. Moderated by talk show host and comedian Conan O'Brien, the actors talk about their experiences on set, while O'Brien peppers in moments like reminding Iain Glen that his character Jorha Mormont was dubbed "Sir Friendzone" on the internet.

Now Playing: Game Of Thrones Season 8 Finale: Daenerys's Descent Into Madness

One of the funniest moments of the special is a video piece where Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington are being interviewed on set about their experiences. Clarke has nothing but nice things to say about filming in Morocco and Spain, while Harington is stuck in Iceland, sleet hitting his head, while he says miserably, "Shooting in Iceland has been so cold. 35 mile per hour winds, and they're frozen." In addition, you get to see the cast react to these interviews with picture-in-picture, which mainly consisted of Clarke laughing at Harington's pain.

For the Game of Thrones: The Complete Series, you also get a digital copy to watch on the go--if you don't have an HBO Go or HBO Now account. The set is loaded with tons of special features, including a 3-disc set of just extras that aren't attached to specific seasons. Check out some of these special features below:
