Following up our report from last week, a few additional details about Nintendo's Color Game Boy have been revealed. Some questions as to the compatibility of new, color games with old, black-and-white Game Boys have been asked by people interested in the new machine. The report from Japan's Asahi Shinbun newspaper confirms that titles developed for the Color Game Boy will be compatible with the older models (much like Super Game Boy titles are) - only they'll be in full color, not just a few simulated colors.
Software will be priced between 3,000-4,500 yen (US$23-35), a little more expensive than current black-and-white titles. Also, on a single set of two AA batteries, the system lasts for ten hours, longer than that of the Game Boy Pocket's battery life.It is expected that Nintendo will make an official announcement and unveiling of the machine before this year's E3. GS News contacted Nintendo of America late last week, but the company could neither confirm nor deny the report.
