Nintendo and Blockbuster have been closely allied since the early days of the Nintendo 64 and more recently with the introduction of Pokemon Snap. Now, the national rental retailer will offer members the option of renting Nintendo's popular Game Boy Color device and software at participating locations.
Those looking to rent a device will only have to put down US$9.99 for a five-evening rental and only $3.99 for each game rental. With the launch of the rental program, Blockbuster will offer 12 titles, including Pokemon Pinball, Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. In the next few months, additional titles will be added to the rental offerings.
What about batteries? If you don't have two AA batteries at home you can purchase them for only $.99 at Blockbuster. (If you're a Blockbuster Rewards member, you'll get them for free with a Game Boy Color rental.)
