Taito released G Darius for the PlayStation this past week in Japan. The arcade port of the popular shooter continues the Darius series.
G Darius is a typical side scrolling shooter: you pick up power-ups, shoot enemy ships, and dodge enemy fire.
The 3D polygonal graphics are dressed up by dazzling lighting effects that look great. The game features three modes of play: arcade mode, beginner mode, and vs-boss mode.
Vs-boss mode allows players to skip the seemingly endless hordes of enemy attackers throughout the levels and to just battle the level bosses. A second player can jump in at anytime to help battle the mechanical beasts that all appear to be different types of flying fish.
