The battle of the band games is shaping up--after Rock Band's announcement of tracks from the Grateful Dead last month, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock publisher Activision has also released a statement adding some new tunes to its game.
These include seven original recordings and 10 rerecorded versions, and will feature songs from Aerosmith, Cream, Santana, and the Killers. The latest additions to the tracklist are as follows:

The new tracks bring the total number now announced for the game to 66 so far. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, published by RedOctane (which was bought by Activision in 2006) and developed by Neversoft, is rated T for Teen by the ESRB and will be released in North America on October 28.
