Respawn has shared additional details about the upcoming Live Fire mode included in next month’s free Titanfall 2 DLC.
The brand-new Live Fire mode was already mentioned earlier this month, and the mode’s designer, Griffin Dean, has now provided some additional details about it.
Live Fire is “fast-paced round-based 6v6 pilot only elimination mode”, according to Dean, and will be introduced with two maps called Meadow and Stacks. Rounds will take only sixty seconds and the team that holds the flag at the end of each round will be victorious.

Maps in Live Fire are designed around “controlled sight-lines, choke points, and flank routes”, and have been designed to force players to seek confrontation with the other team. Down below you’ll read what Dean likes the most about Titanfall 2’s upcoming new mode.
For me, Live Fire is like an espresso shot: It gets my heart pounding. I like the fast-paced elimination play. When I kill an enemy pilot I know I'm making major progress towards a win for my team; if I get killed I only have to wait a short time before I get to try again. The rounds come right down to the wire. It's always anyone's game. Even when we're down to our last player and he's outnumbered 4 to 1 there's still the hope that he can grab the flag before time runs out. In one of our tests the other day, someone won for our team in that exact scenario. He kicked the enemy flag carrier out of the air and grabbed the flag with 0.5 seconds left on the clock. When the round ended I was grinning like an idiot.
On top of a brand-new game mode, a classic multiplayer map from the original Titanfall will return – Colony, the map set in a small fogged town. The reworked Colony map will arrive this March, while Live Fire will arrive next month.
