Now Playing: Netflix's Neon Genesis Evangelion Is Missing Key Components - GS News Update

Hideaki Anno, creator of the original series, is serving as chief director on the new episodes. At the time of this writing, there is no global release date.

The anime series recently had a release on Netflix, which saw some big changes to it--some of which were very puzzling, such as adjustments to music, voice actors, and lines of dialogue.

Anno isn't stopping with this final animated installment, though. He's also writing and producing a live-action Ultraman movie, which Shinji Higuchi--who worked with Anno on Shin Godzilla--will direct. Currently, the movie is titled Shin Ultraman, and the movie is expected to arrive sometime in 2021.
