In yesterday's updated hands-on preview of Forza Motorsport, I mentioned that the game will be reaching stores in April. Looks like I was wrong on that one. As alert readers pointed out to me, and as our news story confirms, Microsoft's long-awaited driving simulator has met with yet another delay on its way out of the production garage and onto Xbox's everywhere. The new release date according to the game's official page on xbox.com will be May 3, several months after the release of another high-profile racing sim from Sony, Gran Turismo 4, now officially slated for a February 22 release.
Whether this announcement is designed to give Team 4za a extra few weeks to polish the game, or a Microsoft marketing move meant to put some space between GT4 and Forza, is not known. For now, all we can hope is that the title doesn't meet with any further delays.
