If you were hoping to play Fortnite on your iPhone, then move over to your Apple TV for the next match, you're out of luck. While a dataminer has uncovered "TV OS" references in the game's code, developer Epic Games has addressed the subject and denied any plans to bring Fortnite to Apple TV.
According to CNET, a Fortnite leaker named Storm took to Twitter to share a photo of the "TV OS" reference concealed somewhere in the game's code. The tweet confidently stated that Fortnite would be "coming to Apple [TVs]" and that Apple's tvOS operating system "has been found in the files."

But after the photo gained a bit of traction, Epic's PR Manager Nick Chester hopped on Twitter to disprove Storm's statement. He said that the references were just "the result of general Unreal Engine support for the Apple TV platform."
Before this spins up:
Epic isn’t planning to bring Fortnite to Apple TV. References to tvOS in the Fortnite files are theresult of general Unreal Engine support for the Apple TV platform. https://t.co/uZJlK2I8Fr
— Nick Chester (@nickchester) August 21, 2018Fortnite first launched in 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Epic then brought the game to iOS in April 2018 and followed that with a Nintendo Switch release in June, during E3. The official Fortnite Android beta has been released but finding the game is more complicated than typing "Fortnite" or "Fortnite Battle Royale" in the Google Play Store, as the studio has opted to use a special Installer found on the game's website.
Although Fortnite's new patch received a slight delay, Epic has confirmed the v5.30 update will launch on Thursday, August 23, with Week 7 challenges becoming available a day later on Friday, August 24. And if you hurry, you can still complete the Season 5 challenges and earn those sweet rewards.
