Fortnite OG promises major weekly changes to the island and loot to a degree we've never seen before. Now, the first of those major updates has arrived and greatly revises the loot pool, while also adding a nostalgic floating cube island to the center of the map. Fortnite OG is now meant to resemble Chapter 1 Season 6. Here's what changes that includes.

Grapple GloveBounce PadsShockwave GrenadesDouble Barrel ShotgunDynamiteSix ShooterClinger GrenadesChiller TrapsMounted TurretsPort-a-FortressQuad CrashersDriftboardFor traversal, this is a great update, with not only Quad Crashers and the Driftboard offering quick and stylish ways around the island, but the fan-favorite Grapple Glove is back, too. While some feel the true Grapple Glove, the branded Spider-Man Web Shooters, are superior, the off-brand glove will--in Zero Build especially--still aid players who have, at times so far, been stuck bleeding out in a valley as the final circle swallows them up with no way for them to hike to safety. Note that the glove can be found via rift encounters only, meaning it may appear when NPCs rift onto the island and create one of various different scenes, both hostile and non-hostile.
Bounce Pads and Shockwave Grenades also rejoin the loot pool, and they're seldom in the game simultaneously, which illustrates how many more traversal methods are available starting today, November 9, that weren't there yesterday.
With more western-themed guns like the Double Barrel and Six Shooter here once more, players can now have a high-noon duel before next week's pirate-heavy update reimagines the island once more.
As for changes to the island itself, Loot Lake is now home to a floating island levitating above a cube, which we now know to be part of a malevolent species of aliens. It's unlikely those story ramifications matter this time since the island is skipping through time and we won't be at the mercy of this exposed cube for long. Look for more major changes every Thursday until December, when the presumed Chapter 5 kicks off with yet another totally new island for players to conquer.
