Fortnite's most recent update brought some enhancements to the battle royale on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Both versions of the game can now run at 120 fps--the Xbox Series S can also support 1200p resolutions.
These FPS improvements only work in Fortnite's standard battle royale and creative modes--it won't work in any limited-time modes, party royale, the battle lab, or Save the World. We may get a separate update that brings these enhancements to them at another date.

Players can make the change by navigating to the Fortnite Video settings menu and turning the “120 FPS Mode" selection on.
Epic Games also added a performance mode to improve Fortnite on lower-end computers. Players will need to opt in to the feature, which can be found in the game's settings menu. Epic also advised players to opt-out of using high resolution textures which can be found in the "Fortnite PC Settings Options" menu.
Fortnite players can also get rewards from bringing their friends back to the battle royale. The "Reboot a Friend" program is similar to other referral programs, granting a series of rewards the more matches you play with the lapsed players that you've brought back. Maybe they'll want to come to see how the game has evolved into the battle royale version of Ready Player One--with characters like Iron Man, the Joker, and Master Chief all singing Christmas carols together during a match.
