Fortnite Mobile Now Supports 60 FPS On Some Devices-January 2024
Jan 11, 2025 9:12 PM

Fortnite's latest 6.31 update introduced a new feature that never made it into the patch notes: some iPhones can now play the game at 60 frames per second. The feature is only available on iPhone XS, XR, and XS Max right now, though developer Epic Games says it's looking to "get better performance on all devices all of the time."

Nick Chester, an Epic Games employee, shared the news on Twitter. When a fan asked why the feature isn't available on iPhone X, Chester responded by saying: "Performance is constrained by hardware, and the devices listed [are] more powerful than the X. That said, the team is always looking at ways to get better performance on all devices all of the time!"

Now Playing: Fortnite Battle Royale - Full Mobile Match Gameplay

Fortnite received a 60 FPS mode on PS4 and Xbox One back in February, having previously run at 30 FPS. There's been no word as yet on whether the higher frame rate will also come to Android devices down the line.

Update 6.31 added a new LTM named Team Rumble upon its release, as well as two new rarities of the Pump Shotgun. For the Save the World mode, meanwhile, there's a new Constructor called Airheart, who arrives with a Rotating Omni-directional Sentry Integrated Exoskeleton (R.O.S.I.E).
