Fortnite Issues After New Fortnitemares Update Release Are Now Fixed
Fortnite Issues After New Fortnitemares Update Release Are Now Fixed-November 2024
Nov 30, 2024 11:37 AM

While today's earlier problems involving Fortnitemares have been resolved, Epic has now confirmed other issues are afoot for its popular battle royale game. Fortunately, it believes it knows how to fix them, as it said in a tweet, "We're aware players are experiencing degraded performance. We believe we've pinpointed the root cause and are working towards a fix." There's not yet any word on how long it may take to implement this fix, and the Fortnite status page doesn't actually include any specifics about the issue. We'll report back with any further updates the company provides. [Update: Epic says the problems should now be resolved. Separately, Epic has resolved issues preventing players from completing Fortnitemares challenges.] The original story follows.

Epic previously temporarily disabled Fortnite's new Halloween event, Fortnitemares, in its free Battle Royale mode. The issues have now apparently been resolved, and you can continue to keep an eye on the Fortnite status page for any further updates or downtime.

Now Playing: Fortnite Update 6.20 Adds Deadfire Skin, Six Shooter, And More - GS News Update

"Matchmaking is now stable and we've re-enabled #Fortnitemares," Epic said in a tweet. "Players in some areas may experience a higher ping as we work on restoring sub-region matchmaking."

In the Fortnitemares Battle Royale, you can complete challenges to earn new cosmetic rewards, like the new reactive skin Deadfire. Both it and some associated other pieces of gear will change throughout the match based on how you play.

This initial set of challenges mostly involves taking down the new cube monsters that appear in Fortnitemares, visiting corrupted areas, and dancing with gargoyles. The challenges and rewards are set to change every few days throughout the event, which will last through November 26.

Fortnitemares is also available in the paid PvE mode, Save the World. That one brings back Hexsylvania with new story quests. Logging into Save the World during the event will earn you a few skins, and founder's packs are currently half-priced. That was all announced alongside word that Save the World isn't going free-to-play this year as previously planned.
