Violent game legislation in Florida has taken its first baby step on the way to becoming a law. The Florida Senate's Committee on Commerce and Consumer Services yesterday approved Senate Bill 492, introduced by Senator Alex Diaz de la Portilla (R-District 36) by a 7-1 vote. The lone vote opposed to the bill belonged to Senator Evelyn J. Lynn (R-District 7). Three more committees must approve the bill before it goes to a vote before the entire Senate, after which the bill, if approved, would start the process over again in the Florida House of Representatives.
