The just-announced M.A.X. 2 is to be the first title developed by Flat Cat, Interplay's new division devoted to the development of real-time and turn-based strategy titles.
Two additional real-time strategy titles that will be released under the Flat Cat label include a new game based on Conquest of the New World and the Star Trek: Starfleet Command starship combat sim.
Ali Atabek, the head of this new division, said of Interplay's effort, "No one else in the industry is devoted to developing strategy titles at this level of focus and commitment."
The division will also develop gambling sim titles. Caesars Palace Imperial Slots and "Caesars Palace II are two such titles; Flat Cat expects to release them this fall.
