SAN JOSE--The special Project Goldmaster award, a prize cosponsored by AOL and Cartoon Network's Power Play Games, went to a fledgling team of game designers out of Tempe, Arizona. Flashbang Studios, which won the award based on its entry Beesley's Buzzwords, now not only basks in the spotlight that comes with being an Independent Games Festival winner but also gets a crack at the big time. Flashbang will have an opportunity to create a game using a Cartoon Network-owned character.

　　Flashbang cofounder and current Development Director Matthew Wegner said, "We've actually joked about making Aqua Teen Hunger Force games." Now he and his staff will get their chance.

　　Wenger and team now has the opportunity to develop an online game using a Cartoon Network character as well as the AOL Journal blogging service. AOL members who go to Keyword: Project Goldmaster will be able to look over the shoulders of the development team during the complete development process.

　　The team will put its current lineup of three games in development on hold while it focuses on this new project.
