First Unofficial Starfield Patch Fixes Unaddressed Errors, Bugs and Inconsistencies
First Unofficial Starfield Patch Fixes Unaddressed Errors, Bugs and Inconsistencies-March 2024
Mar 19, 2025 12:29 PM

The very first unofficial community Starfield patch has been released for PC, fixing errors and bugs that have not been addressed by Bethesda yet.

Created by the 'Starfield Modding Community', this first community patch for Starfield aims to offer numerous fixes for issues that the developers haven't fixed (not yet, or will never fix). It's an unofficial patch in the same vein as the Mass Effect Community patches and the unofficial Skyrim community patch. "The Starfield Community Patch (SFCP) project is a collective effort by mod authors and the wider player community of Starfield to fix bugs, errors, and other inconsistencies present in the game", the team behind the mod writes. "This includes tweaks, typos, and other changes that may have been missed (or not yet released) by the developers. The overall goal is to improve the vanilla experience for all players. All fixes should be considered unofficial unless the change is carried forward by Bethesda".

As said, included with this community patch are fixes for spelling errors, missing attributes, faulty missions, game-breaking exploits, script errors, misplaced objects, and inconsistencies in item properties. According to the team, the patch doesn't include balance changes, new content, or tweaks that are not in keeping with the original vision of Starfield.

This unofficial patch has only been made available for the PC version, but going by the description that the team provided - an Xbox Series X|S patch isn't ruled out. PC players interested in trying out this mod can download it from Nexusmods here. Be sure to follow the provided installation instructions when downloading and installing this patch. "The "official" releases will be made available on Nexus Mods, with more bleeding-edge builds shared via GitHub (TBC) or in private testing groups", the team writes. "There is intended to be a core team of contributors who are likely to be trusted content creators who will manage the merging and applying of the fixes before shipping it to users."

Starfield is available worldwide now for PC and Xbox Series X|S. Be sure to read our review of the game here.
