Any skepticism that those shots GameSpot News posted a few days ago were false is now gone. This shot is an official release from Sega Enterprises. It's from the opening cutscene of Sonic Adventure. On Sonic Team's page, this is accompanied by the words, "What is this?"
This is a different version of a picture found in the group we posted a few days ago (and have since removed) of Sonic Adventure, but it's close enough to definitively know the at least one of the screens we saw a few days ago was real. As the one shown earlier, it depicts a large creature apparently made out of water.
