First look: Cult
First look: Cult-April 2024
Apr 10, 2025 3:47 PM

German game developer 3D People is working on Cult, its upcoming isometric role-playing game set in a medieval fantasy world. The developer describes the game as similar to Diablo II and the Baldur's Gate role-playing game series.

Cult uses a proprietary 3D game engine that supports a number of advanced graphics effects, such as dynamic lighting, soft shadowing, day/night cycles, and a variety of weather effects. In addition, it will feature particle effects, motion blur, multitexturing, 3D object reflections, 32-bit high-resolution textures, and a zoomable camera. The game will run in screen resolutions of up to 1600x1200 with 32-bit color.

We've posted some early screenshots from the game in the gallery above. The screens show off some of the game's different environments, such as detailed stone structures and murky outdoor areas. Some monsters and a character from the game can also be seen in the images.

Cult is in development at 3D People Graphic Studios, and it is scheduled for release in mid-2002. No publisher for the game has been announced. For more information, visit the official 3D People Web site.
