Any JRPG fan knows you should never venture out without a full complement of health potions, but Final Fantasy XVI handles this age-old mechanic a little differently. You begin Final Fantasy XVI with a relatively-limited potion capacity (4 regular potions, and a mere 2 high potions). Thankfully, a pair of sidequests will allow you to boost this number. Here’s how to increase your potion capacity in Final Fantasy XVI…
1) Sometime after the “Fire in the Sky” main mission midway through the campaign, head to Mid’s lab and talk to Owain.
2) Head to the Hunt Board and look up the Bomb King.
3) Fast Travel to the Dragon’s Aery checkpoint in Sanbreque.
4) Head south.
5) Find a narrow, deeply forested path in the woods and head down it.
6) Head to your left just before the path opens up into a clearing. Head down this branch. You’ll find yourself at The Crock ruins.

7) Take out the Bomb King and collect the Bomb Ash.
8) Return to Owain. Your potion capacity is now boosted by 2 (6 regular potions, 4 high potions).
2) Fast travel to the Krozjit Echoes Obelisk in Dhalmekia.
3) Head south.
4) Take out a group of baddies and collect your first Spherical Echo.
5) Fast travel to the North Reach Obelisk in Sanbreque.
6) Head south-west.
7) Head into the forest grove Advent area. Take out the baddies and collect another Spherical Echo.
8) Finally, fast travel to the Auldhyl Docks in Rosaria.
9) Head east, then north over the bridge, then east again.
10) Take out the enemies and lvl 36 Guardian. Collect your final Spherical Echo.
11) Return to Owain, and fully upgrade your potion capacity! You’ll now be able to carry 8 regular potions and 5 high potions, so feel free to load up.
