One of Final Fantasy XV most controversial features is its Chapter 13, where players have to deal with a gameplay change that's somewhat unexpected so late into the game. The game's director Hajime Tabata already revealed that the chapter is going to be tweaked, and he further elaborated on the matter in a recent interview.

　　Speaking with US Gamer, Hajime Tabata clarified on all the post-launch changes, which must not be seen as a way to compromise to the creators' intentions, but just as a way to deliver a further enhanced gameplay experience. These changes won't be limited to just Chapter 13.

　　"When it comes to the overall playability of the game and not the main plot, updating the game while receiving player feedback will not make the game inconsistent to the development team’s vision. We do not intend on making this a completely different game from what was already delivered to the players. We are making changes in order to deliver a further enhanced gameplay experience for those who have purchased and played the game, but this is not necessarily limited to Chapter 13."

　　Speaking about Chapter 13, Tabata iterated that the chapter's direction was a deliberate decision from the team, but resolving some of the issues causing players stress will eventually be beneficial.

　　"That said, the amount of stress inflicted on the player while running through this chapter was greater than we had anticipated. We believe resolving this issue will naturally lead to a better gameplay experience."

　　Final Fantasy XV is now available in all regions on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
