Final Fantasy XV, the latest entry in the series developed by Square Enix, is finally out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While a PC version hasn't been confirmed yet, it seems like development might have started according to a new rumor reported by VG Leaks.

　　The story mentions that Final Fantasy XV will be released on PC sometime during 2018, most likely in the first half of the year. The rumor also adds that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be available for PC at some point in 2018.

　　Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy VII Remake aren't the only role-playing games by Square Enix that will be released on PC in the future. Today's rumor also mentioned that Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lion and Chrono Trigger will be released next year on Steam. With the classic games having received Android ports in the past, it's quite likely that the rumor is indeed right.

　　Despite these claims being somewhat believable, they are coming from an unspecified source so we must take them with a grain of salt until an official announcement comes in, which may take some time, as the Final Fantasy XV team is currently busy developing the game's upcoming DLC packs.

　　Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata seemed interested in the idea of developing not just a port, but a new version of the game that could take advantage of the power of modern PCs.

　　If there was a PC version , Tabata would like the PC version to be a different kind of project : he would like to use the PC version as a tech showcase and put in every tech feature they can …

　　BUT , if they jump into that kind of project they will have to start from start from scratch and redo some (a lot ) of R&D to see what new tech they can use ( so it won’t be a port ).
