With Final Fantasy XV now out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it's time for other entries in the hugely successful series to shine, such as the announced remaster of the PlayStation 2 exclusive game Final Fantasy XII. Today, Square Enix has finally confirmed when players will be able to journey once again to Ivalice with Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age.
During the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Event today, it's been confirmed that Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age will release on July 11th in both North America and Europe. The game will hit Japan a few days later, on July 13th.
Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age is the remastered version of Final Fantasy XII and it will come with features not found in the original PlayStation 2 release, such as a dual language option, an auto-save feature, which will be incredibly helpful due to the nature of the game, the ability to choose between different soundtracks, tweaks to the high speed mode and shortened load times. During Gamescom 2016, we also had the chance to play the game, noting how the tweaks will surely make fans of the original quite happy, but they won't change the opinion of those who aren't fond of the game's core experience.
Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age is still Final Fantasy XII at its core, so those who didn’t like the experience on PlayStation 2 will hardly change their opinion with the sharper look the game will sport starting in a few months.
Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age launches this July exclusively on PlayStation 4 in all regions.
