Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster PC Untitled Project X Mod New Version Improves Full Screen Mode-October 2024
Oct 31, 2024 7:24 AM

Compared to other consoles to PC ports, the PC version of Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster is a well done port that allows PC players to enjoy the two role playing games to the fullest. Nothing is perfect, though, and some dedicated modders have been working hard to improve this new version of the game, adding new features and fixing what is wrong with it.

A few days ago, Kaldaien released a new Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster mod called Untitled Project X, which introduces plenty of fixes and tweaks, such as an Audio Language Selection and more. A new version of the mod has also been made available recently, introducing a very interesting feature which can actually improve the game's performance on certain systems, a true full screen mode.

Fullscreen Support Perfected

            (nearly)
I highly encourage everyone to try out Fullscreen Mode by pressing Alt+Enter at the main menu (or L2+L3). Some systems experience a very significant performance boost in fullscreen.

Alt+Tab is perfectly safe now while in fullscreen modeWhen switching back to the game, it will even restore the fullscreen stateChanging resolutions while in fullscreen mode worksAfter resolution changes you will be running in a borderless window and must press Alt+Enterto go back to fullscreenPlease NOTE: Fullscreen mode is still incompatible with Flip Mode; use that only for windowed mode rendering.

Compatibility Fix for Windows Vista systems
Recompiled dxgi.dll to use GetModuleBaseNameW from psapi.dll instead of kernel32.dllThis was causing my mod not to run on anything older than Windows 7.With the addition of a full screen mode, the only thing that's missing in Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster PC is a working 60 FPS mode. A few days ago, one user showed that it's possible to get cutscenes working correctly at 60 FPS, but a mod has yet to be released.

Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster is now available in all regions on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
