Last week, Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster, the enhanced HD collection including the two entries of the Square Enix role playing game series originally released on PlayStation 2, has been launched on Steam. While the port is generally of good quality, it lacks some features that players were expecting, such as support for higher frame rates and more. While the frame rates issues have yet to be fixed, one dedicated modder has released a new mod which fixes some of the game's issues and adds features that fans will surely enjoy.
The new Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster mod is called the Untitled Project X. Developed by modder Kaldaien, this project aims to introduce technical fixes and general enhancements for the PC release of the game. Among the features that are included in the latest version of the mod, which has been made available earlier today, is the Audio Language selection option, which allows players to choose between English and Japanese voice acting, the ability to use Custom Gamepad buttons, fixes for DPI scaling, texture dumping and injection, which will surely lead to the creation of other mods and more.
Introduction
Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster is overall a very good port, but has a few minor technical issues that I am used to fixing. Additionally, it includes audio assets for both JP and US regions, but has no way of allowing an end-user to select from the two.
Current Features (0.1.0)
Audio Language Selection
Cursor Management
DPI Scaling Fixes
Custom Gamepad Buttons
Texture Dumping and Injection (for modding)
PSN Trophy Sound on Achievement Unlock
