More than 5.5 million people downloaded the FIFA 15 demo, representing a record for any EA Sports demo ever released, Electronic Arts announced today.
The 5.5 million figure represents the number of people who have played the demo on one or more of the following platforms: PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. The FIFA 15 demo is still available to download, so the figure could climb even higher.
FIFA 15 launches today in North America, and EA Sports--unsurprisingly--says the professional soccer game will raise the bar for the franchise.
"We believe we have built a game in FIFA 15 that delivers the most immersive and responsive gameplay experience ever in the FIFA franchise, and we can't wait for the millions of fans to start their season and experience all of the innovations," EA Sports executive David Rutter said in a statement.
Versions of FIFA 15 for Wii, 3DS, and PlayStation Vita are also in the works, and will be released later on.
If you're not into console or PC gaming or want to complement your big screen experience, you can also now download FIFA 15 Ultimate Team for iOS, Windows, and Android devices. It's a free game that lets you earn, trade, and collect soccer superstars like FIFA 15 cover star Lionel Messi.
