Fast X Eyeing Third-Best Start At Box Office In Series History-September 2024
Sep 20, 2024 12:17 AM

Fast X is gearing up for a massive opening weekend. The 10th installment in the main series is projected to earn close to $300 million worldwide for its opening weekend.

According to Deadline, Fast X should pull in $235 million from international markets and at least $60 million from North America to soar to $295 million over its first weekend. That would be the third-best start in Fast & Furious history, trailing only Fate of the Furious ($541.9 million) and Furious 7 ($397.6 million) when it comes to first-weekend results globally.

The domestic projections for Fast X point to the series slowing down. For comparison, the series has averaged, across nine installments, about $75.8 million at the domestic box office. Fast X is, as mentioned above, expected to earn $60 million for its opening weekend in North America.

Fast X was originally expected to be a two-parter, but star Vin Diesel recently revealed that there might be plans in place to make a third film to conclude the current iteration of the series.

Fast X releases at international markets on May 17 ahead of its debut in the US on May 19. It's directed by Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk) and brings back Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, John Cena, Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron.
