The Fast and Furious series could continue with multiple spin-offs after the main series wraps up with Fast X Parts 1, 2, and maybe 3. Star and producer Vin Diesel told Variety that he is developing spin-offs, and in fact he has been working on these for years already. One of them is a female-led Fast & Furious movie.

　　"I started developing the female spin-off... in 2017 with other spin-offs, and the sooner I deliver the finale, the sooner I can launch all the spin-offs," Diesel said.

　　The Fast & Furious series has already seen a spin-off in the form of 2019's Hobbs & Shaw, which starred Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jaston Statham. There was also the animated series Spy Racers, which ran from 2019-2021 on Netflix.

　　Fast & Furious star Michelle Rodriguez is quoted in the piece, too, saying she might take a step back and bow out of any potential future spin-offs. "You pass the baton on," she said. "When it comes to the next generation, you have to. It's the only way to let them define the future."

　　Fast X released in the US on May 19 and put up huge box office numbers for its first weekend, banking more than $300 million worldwide.

　　Fast X has an aggregate score of 55 on GameSpot sister site Metacritic, based on 56 critic reviews, and in GameSpot's Fast X review, Phil Owen wrote hat the movie lacks the memorable moments and charm that previous installments had.

　　"In lieu of a decent story, Fast X is all about rehashing plot threads and set pieces from past movies… Fast X is an exhausting experience," Owen wrote. "Like Fate and F9, it's overstuffed and is more concerned with fan service and growing the family than with telling a decent story. The action is just okay, and the CGI is frequently awful."
