Fast & Furious 9 Has Been Delayed Again And It's James Bond's Fault-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 1:36 AM

Bad news, family. F9: The Fast Saga has been delayed. Again. Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and the rest of the gang were originally scheduled to race into theaters on April 2, 2021. However, after more release date shuffling, that's now when No Time to Die--the next James Bond film--will debut.

Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, F9 has moved to a May 28, 2021 release. Yes, that's nearly two months later. Yes, it's a bummer. After all, we just want to know how Han (Sung Kang) is alive after all of these years. We have to imagine it will be worth the wait, though.

Now Playing: F9 - Official Reveal Trailer

Thus far we've only seen one trailer for F9, but it packed quite a punch. In addition to the revelation that Han survived or is a robot or some such nonsense, we were introduced to the long lost brother of Dom, played by franchise newcomer John Cena. That's right, while The Rock may not be in this movie, there's another WWE superstar filling the void.

F9 is the ninth film in the Fast & Furious franchise--tenth if you count Hobbs & Shaw, which we do--and was originally supposed to be in theaters May 22 of this year. However, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused a slew of shifted release dates. F9 was among the first to alter course. Now let's just hope the May 28 release date sticks.
