Ubisoft announced on Thursday that Far Cry 4's Escape from Durgesh Prison DLC will be released on January 13, 2015. The time trial DLC challenges players to, as its name suggests, escape a prison. That task is bolstered in difficulty by the fact that if you die, you have to start over.
In Escape from Durgesh Prison, main characters Ajay and Hurk awake to find themselves captured, tortured, and without any weapons, locked in a prison. To make your escape, you'll need to complete challenges to find weapons and unlock skills to help you reach an extraction point.
The DLC is playable both solo and in co-op, and Ubisoft describes it as "difficult," in part because it doesn't allow respawning.
"To ramp up the challenge, when players die they must start the mission over again and use the knowledge and skills they gained during their previous run through to help them reach their extraction point successfully," Ubisoft said.
Escape from Durgesh Prison will be available through the $30 Far Cry 4 DLC pass, or can be purchased separately for $10. For more, check out GameSpot's Far Cry 4 review.
