Far Cry and Splinter Cell lead designer Clint Hocking has left Half-Life studio Valve after 17 months with the company, he revealed on his website recently. He left the Seattle studio at the end of 2013, though he has not said why.

　　Hocking previously worked at Ubisoft as creative director, contributing to titles like Far Cry 2 and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. He left Ubisoft in 2010 and spent two years working at the now-shuttered LucasArts on an unannounced project.

　　Hocking joined Valve in July 2012 and served as a designer at the studio, though it is unclear what specifically he worked on at the company. Gamasutra claims he was part of the division working on the long-rumored Left 4 Dead 3, but this is not confirmed.
