TOKYO--Although Nintendo's Famicom Mini Game Boy Advance series has been a hit in Japan, retailers have revealed that the company has recently shipped its last batch of Famicom-themed GBA SP models to stores. The company has released two models during the past year. One is a limited-edition model themed on the Famicom’s controller pad, while the other model is colored like the original Famicom console.
The Famicom-console-themed GBA SP can still be purchased in stores at the retail price of 12,500 yen ($114), which is the same price as any other GBA SP. But after this last shipment, both Famicom-themed GBA SPs will become a collector’s item.
