Fallout 4 New Vegas Remake Gets New Footage 2 Years After Previous Trailer
Fallout 4 New Vegas Remake Gets New Footage 2 Years After Previous Trailer-October 2024
Oct 25, 2024 10:31 AM

Fallout 4 New Vegas, the ambitious total conversion project that aims to remake Fallout New Vegas in Fallout 4's engine, has resurfaced with new footage two years after the previous gameplay trailer, which was released in celebration of the original's tenth anniversary.

This time, the Fallout 4 New Vegas modding team is showcasing their implementation of the fan-favorite Recharger family of weapons. Interestingly, the Recharger weapons are already available as a standalone mod via Nexus Mods, so you can add them to your Fallout 4 playthrough right away.

The mod adds the following weapons:

  Recharger Rifle:

While the recharger rifle is the weakest and heaviest of the recharger weapons, the recharger rifle benefits from its size in that it is able to be modified with new barrels and scope modifications.

  Recharger Pistol:

The more advanced successor to the recharger rifle, the recharger pistol packs more of a punch, holds more than twice the charge, and weighs much less. Due to the increased complexity of the weapon's propriety hardware, the gun cannot be substantially modified.

  MF Hyperbreeder Alpha:

The absolute pinnacle of recharger technology, and a further improvement on the technology of the recharger pistol, the Microfusion Hyperbreeder Alpha fires blindingly fast and recharges almost as fast. The weapon's powerful green lasers can be focused through a long barrel, and its fast fire rate can be braced with a sturdy stock, making for the ultimate bottomless laser SMG.

We first covered Fallout 4 New Vegas nearly five years ago when the modders shared the first ten minutes of the remade game. Unfortunately, there's still no telling when the full project will be released. On the other hand, while it is true that no footage had been released since late 2021 prior to yesterday, the team is very active on Twitter and Discord, sharing new progress whenever possible. Additionally, with Fallout 5 on Bethesda's backburner (after Starfield, they'll work on The Elder Scrolls VI), it's fair to assume this will be released way before the next installment in the franchise.

Here are a few clarifications from the official FAQ:

Fallout 4 New Vegas won't be available on consoles since it relies on F4SE to work.It will require ownership of all DLCs from both games. It won't work with Fallout 4 VR.Some of the cut content may be added back.It will use dialogue and skill systems from New Vegas, though it also takes advantage of Fallout 4's Settlement system (just for player homes, not for exterior settlements). The protagonist won't be voiced, like in the original game. The game world of Fallout 4 New Vegas will be 25% larger than the original simply due to the new version of the Creation Engine.DLCs may be worked on after the main game is released. The team is still accepting applications.
