Last week, it's been reported that the Fallout 4 Creation Kit entered closed beta, with a few lucky modders being able to try out some of its features. A few hours ago, Bethesda has confirmed that from now on all those who have purchased the Steam release of the game are able to use the Creation Kit to create their own mods.
The Fallout 4 Creation Kit, which is the same tool Bethesda used to create the game, can be downloaded for free via the Bethesda.net launcher. A trailer showcasing the Creation Kit has also been shared online, and you can check it out right below.
Alongside the Fallout 4 Creation Kit, Bethesda has also launched official mods support for the game.
For Fallout 4, our goal was to make Mods easier and more accessible than ever before – for both the creators and the players. By building an all-new system with Bethesda.net we’ve made a huge leap forward in achieving that.
You can now browse and search for the latest and greatest Mods, choose your favorites, post feedback, and install them – all within the game. Simply select Mods from the main menu, and start browsing.
Lastly, it's been confirmed that mods will be coming soon to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. The Xbox One version will be getting them next month, while the PlayStation 4 version sometime during June.
Fallout 4 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We will let you know precisely when mods will become available on consoles as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
