Fable expands on Xbox
Fable expands on Xbox-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 4:49 AM

Envy struck Xbox Fable fans for a hundred points of damage last March when Microsoft Game Studios announced that the PC version of the game would include exclusive content. Dubbed Fable: The Lost Chapters, the game included areas and items that were held back by Peter Molyneux and Lionhead Studios.

Not wanting to leave its Xbox faithful out in the cold, Microsoft Game Studios revealed in July that fans of the role-playing game would be able to explore the Lost Chapters, but not as an Xbox Live download, as some would have hoped. Fable for the Xbox was rereleased today as Fable: The Lost Chapters, and it's part of the $19.99 Platinum Hits collection.

In the game, adventurers are presented with situations that can be approached with halos or horns, and each decision is tallied as a moral choice. Should a gamer run rampant slaying innocent villagers and punting fowl, he'll be feared by citizens and will take on a demonic façade. On the flip side, if he defends all that's moral and right, he'll approach a godlike status, both in reputation and in appearance. Likewise, the character's choice of proficiencies also shapes his body.

The new content has been integrated into the main storyline and has also been tacked on to the end of the game for an all-new finale. In addition to new realms and several new weapons and expressions, hats will be available to further customize characters.

Fable: The Lost Chapters is rated M for Mature and retails for $19.99. For more information on Fable: The Lost Chapters, read GameSpot's review of the PC version.
