F1 23 to Get NVIDIA DLSS 3 Support After Launch-September 2024
Sep 19, 2024 9:32 PM

F1 23, the next entry in the racing series by Codemasters, will be among the games launching in the next couple of weeks to support NVIDIA DLSS upscaling technology.

Today, NVIDIA confirmed that the racing game, which launches on June 16th on PC and consoles, will support NVIDIA DLSS 2 at launch to improve performance with minimal impact on visual quality. A post-launch update will also introduce support for NVIDIA DLSS 3 Frame Generation, which will further improve performance on the RTX 4000 series GPUs.

F1 23 isn't the only game launching this month to support NVIDIA DLSS, as Bloober Team's Layers of Fear will also support NVIDIA's upscaling technology. The new entry in the psychological series is also one of the first games powered by Unreal Engine 5 to launch, and if the demo is of any indication, the game will be among the best-looking games released this year.

Joining F1 23 and Layers of Fear in the NVIDIA DLSS lineup for the coming weeks are Daydreams: Forgotten Sorrows, which will support DLSS 2 at launch, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which will support NVIDIA DLSS 3, DLAA, Reflex and ray tracing, Party Animals, which will support DLSS2 and Reflex, Witchfire, which will support DLSS 3 and Reflex, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, which will support DLSS 3 and ray tracing like the base game, and Warhaven, which will support DLSS 3.

While NVIDIA DLSS support is always welcome, it seems like F1 23 may not need it as much as other titles do, judging from its undemanding system requirements. Without ray tracing, the developer recommends an NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti or AMD RX 590, which are far from being the most powerful GPUs around, so most users should be able to run the game with a decent level of performance even without using upscalers.
