Last week, Donnie Worley, Greg Jobes, Eric Kohler and Jason Hayes four graphic artists from Electronic Arts Florida/Tiburon resigned from their respective positions to found a post-production/graphic arts company named Ballistic Pixel Lab with EA alumni Dave Mathieu.
Collectively, all five members have produced artwork for a number of EA titles including the successful Madden, NCAA Football and March Madness series of EA Sports games.
``The Ballistic Pixel Lab will be the type of post-production company, by which all future companies will be measured, exclaims Mathieu. Our primary goal is to provide our clients the very latest technology has to offer in the field of post production and to deliver this on time with a new standard of quality.''
Ballistic Pixel Lab will specialize in the development of 3D modeling and animation, 2D graphics, special effects, cinematic development, video editing, logo design, story boarding and web design. The company has already secured a number of contracts, although none could be commented on this early on.
Coincidentally, this isn't the first time a number of EA Florida/Tiburon employees have broken away to start up their own company. In April, music composer Darryl Duncan also left EA Florida/Tiberon to found GameBeat, a company specializing in sound effects and soundtracks for games.
