Elden Ring’s Malenia Boss Battle Was Attempted Over 300 Million Times, New Infographic Reveals-September 2024

Elden Ring, the latest action role-playing game developed by From Software now available on PC and consoles, is filled with powerful enemies, but none of them is as deadly as Malenia, Blade of Miquella, as revealed by a new infographic shared today.

According to the infographic shared today on Bandai Namco's official website, the infamous boss was attempted 329 million times since its release last year. Malenia is followed by Margit The Fell Omen, who was attempted 281 million times, the Limgrave Tree Sentinel, who was attempted 277 million times, Radagon of the Golden Order, who was attempted 148 million times and Starscourge Radahn who was attempted 139 million times. Since the game's release, players have initiated boss battles 5.9 billion times.

It is quite interesting to see two early-game bosses among those that Elden Ring players have attempted the most. The Limgrave Tree Sentinel boss is the first one players meet as soon as they reach the first area of the game, so it is not surprising that many attempted to take him down, not knowing how powerful he really is. Without exploring Limgrave thoroughly, Margit the Fell Omen can also be quite challenging.

Today's Elden Ring infographic also revealed the cause of the over 9 billion deaths since launch. Most players have been taken down by enemies and NPCs, and only a mere 2% of the deaths were caused by another player. Invasions don't seem to be particularly popular in Elden Ring, as of the over 1 billion summons, 88% of them were for co-op, and only 12% were Invasions.

The new Elden Ring infographic also sheds some light of the most used spells, which include Rock Sling and Crystal Torrent, and the most acquired incantations, such as the Blessing of the Erdtree, Bestial Sling, and Golden Vow.

Elden Ring is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One worldwide. You can learn more about the game by checking out my review of the PC release, where I praised the game's open-world and mechanics.
