Even after over a year since its release, FromSoftware's Elden Ring is continuing to win prestigious awards for some of its features.

　　The latest award the latest action role-playing game by the Japanese developer has won is the 2023 Nebula Award, a science fiction and fantasy award that is given out each year for outstanding literary works, including game writing. The award went to both Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin, making it the first for the FromSoftware president and the third for the author of the A Song of Ice and Fire novels.

　　All the awards Elden Ring has won so far are well-deserved, as it is one of the best action role-playing games released in recent years and one of FromSoftware's best titles. With the game having received almost universal praise from critics and players, expectations for the Shadow of the Eldtree DLC expansion are high. Unfortunately, it may be a while until we will be able to venture back to the Lands Between, as the expansion may not release before April 2024. Those who cannot wait to get their hands on another FromSoftware experience will be able to do so in a few months, as Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon will launch this August on PC and consoles.

　　I tried hard to find any faults in Elden Ring, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't find any outside of some technical issues that the developers could fix via patches. I firmly believe that perfection doesn't exist and that it is always possible to improve, but I really couldn't think of anything that Elden Ring could have done better. As such, the game wholly deserves a perfect score, an honor I would have given only to a couple of other modern games, not only for its extremely high quality but also for what it accomplished with its open world and for how it will surely influence video games as a whole in the future.
