London-based Eidos has told Reuters that it had increased its yearly profits ending March 1999. The company's pretax profits were 37.9 million pounds (about US$61 million), up from last year's 16.5 million pounds (about $26 million). And its turnover increased to 226.3 million pounds (about $362 million) from 137.2 million pounds (about $220 million).
Since the announcement of its earnings, the company's stock has risen 13 percent to 21.07-1/2 pounds (about $33.74) on the London Stock Exchange.
Eidos expects its numbers to rise over the summer with the release of Official Formula 1 Racing and Braveheart.
