Eidos announces ShellShock: Nam '67-November 2024
Nov 15, 2024 1:19 PM

Eidos has today announced that it will release ShellShock: Nam '67 for the PC, PlayStation 2, and Xbox in June. The Vietnam War-themed action game, which is currently in development at Guerrilla, focuses on a rookie soldier's experience of the war, complete with napalm bombardments of civilian villages, Viet Cong booby traps, and deadly ambushes.

"With ShellShock: Nam '67, we are aiming to deliver a game that really provides as authentic a war experience as possible," said Hermen Hulst, managing director of Guerrilla. "Through extensive research on all topics, but also by not shying away from the more controversial aspects of war, we are looking to provide gamers with the closest thing to actually being there."

As players progress through the game, they'll move up through the ranks into the Special Forces. Missions in the game will include everything from large-scale battlefield encounters with the Vietnamese army to stealth-based missions and assassination attempts. Locales visited during the player's tour of duty will include lush wetlands, dense jungles, Vietnamese villages, and claustrophobic tunnel systems.

"Guerrilla is an extremely talented developer with brilliant technology and a clear understanding of what makes a great game," said Mike McGarvey, CEO of Eidos. "We've got high expectations for ShellShock: Nam '67, as it offers a unique take on what is a very successful genre."

We'll bring you more information on ShellShock: Nam '67 as soon as it becomes available.
