ECTS, partnered with the Game Developers Conference Europe, CMP United Business Media, and the game industry trade magazine MCV, announced its best-of-show awards today. The following games won awards:
Overall best game of show: Breed (PC)
Best console game of the show: Super Monkey Ball (GBA)
Best multiplayer game of the show: Korean Multiplayer Ping Pong (Arcade)
The committee also announced a series of readers' choice awards that were the result of reader votes on the official ECTS Web site:
Best console of the year: PlayStation 2
Best PC hardware: Gainward GeForce4 'Powerpack' Ultra/750XP Golden Sample
Best console game of the year: Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (PC)
Game publisher of the year: Electronic Arts
The annual ECTS awards are picked at the time of the show by a panel of journalists, and according to the announcement, the readers' choice awards are the result of votes from "more than 750 visitors to" the ECTS Web site.
