Ubi Soft has released the first screenshots from Worms Blast, which is scheduled to come to the PC, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, and PlayStation 2. While these screenshots are from the PC version, they are demonstrative of what the game will look on the PS2 and the GameCube. The new screenshots still have a 2D appearance to them, but Ubi Soft said the game will use 3D characters set in a real-time environment. In single-player or frenetic multiplayer matches, players duke it out with loony weapons in a wild race to sink their opponents' boat. The core of the gameplay has remained untouched to stay true to the Worms formula. Players can choose from a wide variety of weapons, including holy hand grenades, rocket launchers, shotguns, and grenades. This time around, there are also more exaggerated attacks, such as sea monster attacks, meteor storms, and torpedoes.
The GBA, PC, and PS2 versions of Worms Blast are scheduled to be released this November. The GameCube release schedule has not been announced yet.
