The Adventure Company has revealed the first details regarding Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern, an adventure title it picked up in April. The game, which is being developed by Kheops Studio, is set in the Paleolithic period of human history, and it deals with one of the lost wonders of humanity.
In the game, you play a character named Arok as he embarks on a quest throughout the ancient world. He will also have to survive in a period where survival isn't particularly easy, so like any classic hunter-gatherer, you'll have to hunt, fish, and forage for food. You also get to meet interesting characters and take part in mysterious shamanistic ceremonies.
The heart of any adventure game is in the strength and nature of its puzzles, and Echo will feature an inventory system that will let you combine and create tools and items to help you solve its puzzles.
Due to the historical setting, the game will also serve as sort of a primer to the Paleolithic. Included will be an integrated encyclopedia with the latest historical information. Additionally, the game features some pretty sharp high-resolution graphics, so you'll get to explore a world that borders on photo-realistic at times.
Echo sounds very interesting, so we'll keep an eye on the game and keep you up to date with any details. It's scheduled to ship in October.
