Midway will ship NFL Blitz for both the Sony PlayStation and the Nintendo 64 this week, ahead of its original release date. It's expected to be on sale September 12. That makes Blitz available on the Nintendo 64 ahead of its competition: Quarterback Club '99 from Acclaim and Madden NFL '99 from Electronic Arts.
The PC version of Blitz is expected to hit sometime in October, followed by a Game Boy Color version in time for Thanksgiving.
Midway is supporting the title with a US$8 million marketing campaign, with a spot on the first ABC Monday Night Football game September 7.
