If you can't beat em, eat em. Could that be the subtext of a rumored purchase of Vancouver-based sports games developer Radical Entertainment by Electronic Arts?
An informed source has confirmed to GameSpot News that the two companies are in discussions, but that final terms have yet to be agreed upon.
Calls to Radical's San Francisco office netted the news that yes, the company is engaged in "dialogue with EA but nothing's been solidified." Electronic Arts refused to comment. But a purchase by the deep-pocketed Electronic Arts would bolster its already burgeoning sports lineup - and deliver into its midst the ESPN Digital Games license now with Radical.
"Ever since E3, we've had a number of people coming to us, but it's only been recently ," Radical's Lori Smith told GameSpot News.
Calls to Disney Online (Disney owns ESPN) were not returned at press time.
