Ever thought "hey, golf is OK and all, but I totally wish I could hit a few balls in the middle of a dangerous war zone while jets bomb battleships around me"? Don't worry folks, EA has heard you loud and clear.
Aside from the usual array of grassy golf courses, upcoming EA Sports PGA Tour will feature a variety of fantasy courses, one of which is a war zone featuring battleships, fighters jets, and yes, lots and lots of explosions. The game will be powered by Frostbite, the same engine used in EA's Battlefield series.
It's not known what has sparked this new, rather dramatic direction for the PGA Tour series, but perhaps the recent dropping of Tiger Woods has given EA Sports a sudden burst of creativity. Or, you know, because explosions.
EA Sports PGA Tour launches in spring 2015 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
