During AMD's Capsaicin Event at the Game Developers Conference 2016, publisher Ubisoft confirmed Watch Dogs 2, and the game will support DX12. Most likely, the sequel to the original Watch Dogs, will be optimized for AMD hardware.
During AMD's developer and press event, Ubisoft attended and mentioned "the upcoming Watch Dogs 2", thereby confirming the title. Additionally, Ubisoft confirmed that Watch Dogs 2 will support DirectX12 (DX12).
No further details were shared, but since Ubisoft confirmed the title during AMD's press briefing, chances are high that Ubisoft's open-world title will be highly optimized to run on AMD hardware. A recent article about Watch Dogs 2 from website 'The Country Caller', was tweeted by AMD's Roy Taylor overnight.

As reported some months ago, Watch Dogs 2 might well be set in San Francisco, and will include 'radical changes', compared to its prequel.
“There are flaws, obviously. We absolutely want to tackle these flaws and surprise players, and the way to tackle some of those flaws is going to be quite radical. There are parts of the game that will need to change”, Ubisoft’s Lionel Raynaud, told CVG last year.
The original Watch Dogs was announced during the E3 of 2012. Back then, Ubisoft announced their new open-world action-adventure as a “new, ground-breaking intellectual property”.
“Watch Dogs goes beyond the limits of today’s open-world games by giving players the ability to control an entire city,” said Jonathan Morin, creative director, Ubisoft. “In Watch Dogs, anything connected to the city’s Central Operating System becomes a weapon. By pushing the boundaries, we can provide players with action and access to information on a scale that’s never been seen in a video game before.”
Watch Dogs 2 will probably be released somewhere this year for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Perhaps Ubisoft will reveal more about the game during the upcoming E3.
